Spiked Cider Candy Beverage

Fall is here. Let the cider flow!

Here’s a tasty spiked cider recipe made even better with the addition of seasonal candies. Enjoy!

What you need:

  • Apple Cider
  • Vodka (I got whipped cream flavor)
  • Club Soda
  • Werther’s Original Caramels (Caramel Apple Filled flavor)
  • Original Gourmet Lollipops (I found the Caramel Apple and Candy Apple flavors)
  • Jolly Rancher Gummies (especially the ones that have the Sour Apple flavor inside!)
  • Caramel ice cream topping
  • Whipped Cream

Recipe depends on how many people, but for a single glass have 1 1/2 cups cider, 1/3 cup vodka, and 1/3 cup club soda. Feel free to drop some Werther’s Originals in the bottom to add a creamy flavor too.

Add whipped cream on top drizzled with caramel sauce, and garnish with gummies (and a lollipop too).

Cheers!

Cadbury Creme “Dragon” Eggs

The Game of Thrones season finale is here!

This sugary-sweet themed snack will be the perfect addition to celebrate the epic episode we’ve been all waiting for.

What you need:

  • Cadbury Creme Eggs
  • Rice Krispies Treats
  • 3 Hershey’s Chocolate Bars
  • Creamy Chocolate Icing
  • Cake-decorating Icing (in red gel, green gel, black, and white)
  • Yellow Food Coloring
  • Toothpicks

Directions:

Grab a cooking sheet to build your Dragon Egg Box.

Break the 1 Hershey’s Bar in half. Unwrap the other 2. Break the Rice Krispies Treats to be the length of one Hershey’s Bar. Use black icing to make a ‘glue’ on the edges of the Rice Krispies Treat and place the Hershey’s Bars around it.

Fill top of Rice Krispies Treat with black icing to form cushion for the Cadbury Creme Eggs.

Place eggs on black icing cushion.

Decorate each egg. (Use red gel, green gel, and white icing with a drop or two of yellow food coloring).

Use a toothpick with a little black icing on the end to add texture to the eggs.

Place on coffee table for display during finale! (Indulge in it as well–just beware, it’s very sugary sweet! Maybe pair small portions with vanilla ice cream for a tasty treat!)

Move Over Mint: 7 Other Delicious Candy Cane Flavors

I’m not a mint guy. So when Christmas rolls around I’m not the first one stocking up on the red and white classics. Instead, sign me up for the sour, the sweet, and the sodalicious!

Check out 7 other candy cane types (and one bonus flavor) for those of you that just can’t get into minty madness.

Sweet Tarts Candy Canes

With Green Apple, Cherry, and Blue Punch (the best flavor out of the three) these Sweet Tarts candy canes know to to transform the classic candy into a tangy combo of tropical flavors.

Dum-Dums Candy Canes

Known for their lollipops, Dum-Dums makes the leap to candy canes. And it’s worth it. Each flavor it sweet enough but not overpowering. And still has the classic Dum-Dums taste.

Starburst Candy Canes

Though I was worried that they wouldn’t live up to their juicy classic candies, these Starburst candy canes are still just as powerfully potent with the flavor. And the strawberry ones are just as juicy as my favorite Starburst flavor.

Jelly Belly Candy Canes

Tutti-Fruitti is a favorite Jelly Belly flavor of mine, so when I saw it was one of the three Jelly Belly candy cane flavors I had to get them. Though these candy canes don’t have the same feel as the tiny jelly bean candies, the flavor is still there–and that’s what matters most.

Lifesaver Candy Canes

It’s basically a pack of lifesavers in candy cane form. What’s not to love? (Plus I could eat the pineapple ones all day long…)

Soda Candy Canes

THESE. Are so good. First off, I want Dr. Pepper flavored everything. And these candy cane flavors surprisingly do these soda brands justice. They even had a strangely accurate fizz taste to them. They were a fun addition to my typical candy cane buying spree.

Sour Patch Kids Candy Canes

First sour, then sweet—in candy cane form. With my favorite (green!) as part of the mix, this is hands down my favorite choice. Sour powder is on each individual candy cane to make it has sour and delicious as possible.

*BONUS* – Pickle Candy Canes

That’s right. Pickle Candy Canes. Would you try them?

Is there a candy cane type I missed that you choose instead of (or in addition to!) the classic mint flavor?
